Adding Text to a Page
Content Management Systems don't like text copied directly from Word Processors like Word.
This video shows you how to copy unformated text onto a webpage. You will save yourself many headaches if you follow the instructions and always copy text this way.You will probaly find it easier to write your text in a Word Processing system like Microsoft Word.
If you do this an important rule is to never copy text directly from Word (or any other Word Processor) directly onto a page in the Content Manager.
Why?
Because when you copy the text from a Word Processor, you don't only copy the text, you also copy any formatting associated with it. That is information such as bold, italics and the font. Font information is coded into a website, so when you import text with formatting this causes all sorts of display issues. The text on your page will not look as you expect.
- The Content Manager has the tools to allow you to format with bold and italics. You cannot manually adjust fonts in the way you can in a Word Processor. If you aren't happy with the fonts, you'll need to talk to us about your preferences.
- The easiest way to copy text is to use the Paste as Plain Text option, highlighted in the toolbar below.

Want to make a duplicate copy of your page? Look for the option on your website pages table page. Take a look here.
Now that you can add text, it's time to learn how to make text into links.
