Navigating the Homescreen

Use the red letters in the diagram and the list below to learn about this page.

• (A) The Preview button allows you to see what your changes will look like before you publish. More help on this page.
• (B) The Change (pencil) and Delete (trash) buttons.
  Use Change pencil to go to the page to edit it. Use the delete button with extreme caution - you cannot 'undelete' a page.
• (C) The Copy page button makes a duplicate copy. It is the easiest way to create a new page - copy an existing one and then make changes to create a new page.
  You might also use it to make a copy of an existing page so you can try out changes without changing the real page. 
• (C) The Publish button. You must publish a page before any changes appear on your live website.
• (D)  Pagenames uniquely identify each page on a website. Tip: Look at at a website address and you will see that the page name appears at the end of the address.
• (E) Page title - appears at the very top of your browser's screen, above the address bar and toolbars.  When you hover over the tab in your browser it  has information relevant for the search engines.
• (F) Menu text - If the page is on the navigation bar, this is the text that appears there.
• (G) Published -the date and user who last published the page. Tip: If you made a change but it is not on your live site, check here first to see if you published the page
• The last column allows you to move a page up or down the default order of this table.
  Tip: If you edit a page frequently, but it is at the bottom of the list you might want to use the up arrow to move the page higher up so you can find it more quickly.
